One Good Choice for Eternity

It would’ve been nice if God had let us order life like we order a meal. I’ll take good health and a high IQI’ll pass on the music skills, but give me a fast metabolism. Would’ve been nice, but it didn’t happen. When it came to your life on earth you weren’t given a voice or a vote. But when it comes to life after death you were. In my book that seems like a good deal. Wouldn’t you agree? Have we been given any greater privilege than that of choice?
You’ve made some bad choices in life, haven’t you? You’ve chosen the wrong friends, maybe the wrong career, even the wrong spouse. You look back and say, “If only—if only I could make up for those bad choices.” Well, you can. One good choice for eternity offsets a thousand bad ones on earth. The choice is yours.

(above 2 links from Ursula)

The above link is to the documentary about Sybil Fox and Robert Richardson and their lives during his time at Angola (Louisiana State Penitentiary). Jean explained to me how Sybil Fox Richardson AKA Fox Rich connects to our family.
Cousin Bill was Mama's first cousin. His wife, Odessa had a cousin named Loy T.   She had several children and they stayed with Odessa "Dess" and Cousin Bill all summer long, every summer.  They lived next door to Mama and Daddy.
So Loy T's children grew up with many of Mama and Daddy's children and lived as cousins to them and other Hays and Bells in the community. Loy T had 6 daughters (4 spent the summers) and 3 sons (2 spent the summers) and she named her youngest two daughters after Mattie and Vata. One of her daughters, Peggy Autrey is Fox Rich's mother. So that's the connection.

"We must build our faith not on fading lights, but on the light that never fails." Oswald Chambers (quote from Charisse)

"Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.

It is certain, in any case, that ignorance, allied with power, is the most ferocious enemy justice can have."

James Baldwin (quote from Ursula)

"He who cannot change the very fabric of his thoughts will never be able to change reality, and will never, therefore, make any progress."
Anwar Sadat

"The will to persevere is often the difference between failure and success." -David Sarnoff (above quotes from Wallace)
