The Apostle’s Creed

Affirmation of Faith: I believe in God the Father Almighty, the Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; The third day He arose from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. Bell Gram Is 32!

https://bellgram2019.blogspot.com/2023/03/bell-gram-is-31.html

It was March 16, 1992 when I thought that a family newsletter might be a good idea. Our family has always stayed in touch closely, but I just wanted to add to that, mainly for Daddy's Grands. :)

Thanks to all who have helped and participated throughout the years. I couldn't have done it without you. When we started it was a typewriter, typing paper, lots of time at Kinkos, envelopes, stamps and a visit to the post office. Did I mention I was a night shift nurse? :) Then access to the internet allowed for more colorful templates. Don't ever dis Wayne O's black and white template. It was awesome and so was his help over the years. :) Later I learned about blogs and started to use blogger.

We have shared significant losses together. God has given us strength in the midst of them and in the midst of serious illnesses and treatments. He has constantly been in all that we have faced and we have given Him the glory for helping us through them and for the many celebrations that we have had.

With all of the new and easier ways to communicate these days, this blog is less important than it used to be, but as long as there are viewers (and I know when there are :)), I will do my best.
I don't know what tomorrow holds, but I am thankful for all of the participation and help I've received with this dream or in Wallace's Mr Brown's voice, "this tiffany" I had 32 years ago. :)
As always, I thank you all who share, participate and read and special thanks to Jean, Mattie, Wallace, Glen, Wayne O., Hank and Ursula for going above and beyond in their own way.

THE CLASS OF 1958 - WEBSTER HIGH SCHOOL - Minden, LA -
PRESENTING
THIS MOMENT IN TIME
KEEPING THE LEGACY ALIVE
This little known & little talked about SPORTS HISTORY OF THE MIGHTY WEBSTER WOLVES BASKETBALL CHAMPIONS & RUNNER-UPS of both basketball teams in the 1957/58 school year. The Boys Basketball Team was NORTH LOUISIANA AAA CHAMPIONS under the direction of COACH Oziah "BIRD" JOHNSON, with six GRADUATING SENIORS from THE CLASS OF 1958 (John D, Gill, Grady Dixon, Robert "TONY" Rhodes, Bennie White, Albert "BLUE" Wilson, and
Robert Joe Cobb). The Girls Basketball Team was RUNNER-UPS for the CHAMPIONSHIP in the same 1957/58 school year, under the direction of COACH H. CAREY WILSON,, with two GRADUATING SENIORS from THE CLASS OF 1958 (Jean Ethel Bell and Bobbie "BOBCAT" Jackson). Let's also remember my recent FB post sharing that the FOOTBALL TEAM with a 7-2-1 record and dominating statistics from the same 1957/58 school year, under the direction of COACH FLENTROY . COULD THIS HAVE BEEN THE GREATEST SPORTS SEASON AT WEBSTER HIGH SCHOOL ON RECORD? IT'S GOING TO BE AWFULLY HARD TO BEAT. CLASS OF 1958, WE CAN ALL STAND UP AND SAY "WE'RE A WINNER". And then stand up and give yourself a "STANDING OVATION". (article written by Jimmy Sims)

October: Family History Month!

George W. Bell Sr. was born in June, between 1851 and 1855 in Arkansas. His parents were believed to be from the state of Georgia. He moved to Claiborne Parish, Louisiana and was united in marriage with Mollie Levingston in or about 1877. He had a farm with several of the crops of that time. Many local and non locals came to work on his farm. There was a mill there where people brought their cane to be processed. He donated land to the Mt. Sinai community for a church and burial grounds. At one time this area was called "Bales (Bell) Meadors Settlement". Those who remembered him described him as a bit tall, a nice person with a quiet manner of speaking. He had a brother who was called Step who sometimes came to visit from Arkansas. He and Mollie Levingston Bell had 13 children. They also raised two grandchildren, Union and John Almer "Jelly". He had an A Model and a T Model car and was one of the first people in the area to own a car. He passed away in 1935 at about 83 years of age. Part of his inheritance to his children was 650 acres of land.

MOLLIE LEVINGSTON BELL was born around 1860 in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. She was said to be very strict. She was a traditional farm wife on a very large farm. She had 13 children and lost one child, MaryWillis during her lifetime. Children: George Adams, Annie Levingston Browning, Robert Bell, Sr, *Tommie Bell, Sr, Maggie Bell Brown, George Bell, Jr, Lonnie Bell, Sr., Trudie Bell Sanders, Plummer Bell Sr., Callie Bell Washington, and Mollie Bell Brown. Mollie Levingston Bell passed away on November 8, 1928. She was around 68.
