The Modern Creed

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is one true church, apostolic and universal, whose holy faith, let us now declare:

We believe in God the Father, infinite in wisdom, power and love, whose mercy is over all his works, and whose will, is ever directed to his children’s good.

We believe in Jesus Christ, Son of God and Son of man, the gift of the Father’s unfailing grace, the ground of our hope, and the promise of our deliverance from sin and death.

We believe in the Holy Spirit as the divine presence in our lives, whereby we are kept in

perpetual remembrance of the truth of Christ and find strength and help in time of need.

We believe that this faith should manifest itself in the service of love as set forth in the example of our blessed Lord, to the end that the kingdom of God may come upon the earth.

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth and in Jesus Christ,

Chronic stress occurs when the body is consistently exposed to stressors, leading to prolonged activation of the stress response system. This response involves the release of stress hormones such as cortisol and norepinephrine. While these hormones are beneficial in short bursts—like during a stressful exam or a near-miss car accident—the effects can be damaging when they persist over weeks, months, or even years.

The consequences of chronic stress are widespread. It can lead to cardiovascular problems, such as hypertension and heart disease, due to increased heart rate and blood pressure. In the digestive system, stress can exacerbate conditions like irritable bowel syndrome or even lead to weight gain through stress eating. Moreover, chronic stress can impair the immune system, making the body more susceptible to infections and illnesses.

Mental health is also affected; individuals may experience anxiety, depression, or burnout.
