In the digestive system, stress can exacerbate conditions like irritable bowel syndrome or even lead to weight gain through stress eating. Moreover, chronic stress can impair the immune system, making the body more susceptible to infections and illnesses.

Mental health is also affected; individuals may experience anxiety, depression, or burnout.
