George W. Bell Sr. was born in June, between 1851 and 1855 in Arkansas. His parents were believed to be from the state of Georgia. He moved to Claiborne Parish, Louisiana and was united in marriage with Mollie Levingston in or about 1877. He had a farm with several of the crops of that time. Many local and non locals came to work on his farm. There was a mill there where people brought their cane to be processed. He donated land to the Mt. Sinai community for a church and burial grounds. At one time this area was called "Bales (Bell) Meadors Settlement". Those who remembered him described him as a bit tall, a nice person with a quiet manner of speaking. He had a brother who was called Step who sometimes came to visit from Arkansas. He and Mollie Levingston Bell had 13 children. They also raised two grandchildren, Union and John Almer "Jelly". He had an A Model and a T Model car and was one of the first people in the area to own a car. He passed away in 1935 at about 83 years of age. Part of his inheritance to his children was 650 acres of land.
MOLLIE LEVINGSTON BELL was born around 1860 in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. She was said to be very strict. She was a traditional farm wife on a very large farm. She had 13 children and lost one child, MaryWillis during her lifetime. Children: George Adams, Annie Levingston Browning, Robert Bell, Sr, *Tommie Bell, Sr, Maggie Bell Brown, George Bell, Jr, Lonnie Bell, Sr., Trudie Bell Sanders, Plummer Bell Sr., Callie Bell Washington, and Mollie Bell Brown. Mollie Levingston Bell passed away on November 8, 1928. She was around 68.
TOMMIE BELL SR. was born on May 6, 1880.
